Mozzarella Cheese Sticks Bread

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup nonfat plain Greek yogurt
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 6 light string cheese sticks
  • 1 egg
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  3. In a large bowl, mix together flour, salt, baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and Italian seasoning until well combined.
  4. Mix in Greek yogurt until the mixture begins to form a dough.
  5. Lightly flour a clean surface, and turn dough out onto the surface to roll out to approximately ½" thickness. I roll into a rectangular shape for easy cutting later.
  6. Cut the dough into 6 equal lengths
  7. Place a cheese stick in the center of each length of dough and wrap dough around the dough pinching the two sides together to seal.
  8. Place onto the baking sheet with seam side down.
  9. Whisk an egg until light and frothy, and then brush the tops of the breadsticks with it before placing in the oven.
  10. Place in oven on middle rack, and bake at 400 degrees for 15-17 minutes or until golden brown on top.
