WW Salisbury Steak Recipe

  • 1 pound 95% lean ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 12oz can fat-free beef broth
  • 8 ounces button mushrooms, sliced thinly
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ⅛ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • Non-stick cooking spray
  1. In a medium mixing bowl, combine ground beef, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, black pepper, salt, and onion powder. Mix well until seasonings are evenly distributed.
  2. Form the beef mixture into 4 equal patties
  3. In a large non-stick pan that has been sprayed with non-stick cooking spray, cook patties on medium-high heat for 4 minutes per side.
  4. Remove patties from the skillet and set aside for later.
  5. Reduce heat to medium, and add in butter and mushrooms.
  6. Cook mushrooms, stirring occasionally, over medium heat for 5 minutes. They should cook down and begin to brown.
  7. In a small bowl, mix ¼ cup beef broth with the cornstarch and set aside.
  8. Scraping any bits of mushroom or meat off the bottom of the skillet, pour in the remaining beef broth. Reduce heat to low.
  9. Stir regularly and allow mushroom and broth mixture to simmer for 2-3 minutes. Add in the cornstarch and beef broth and stir well.
  10. Place beef patties back into the skillet alongside the mushrooms. Simmer on low to medium heat for additional 4-5 minutes.
  11. Serve with or without mushrooms and sauce as desired.
