Crescent Roll Hot Dogs are a popular snack or meal for kids, but I admit, I have always loved the combination with a bit of cheese and mustard for dipping.  Since I've been on Weight Watchers, I've tried to make our meals work for all of us.  That means coming up with healthier options for foods we all love.  This recipe introduces healthier options to cut the calories and make a meal we all love.

Crescent Roll Hot Dogs can easily fit into any diet plan! This recipe is only 5 Weight Watchers SmartPoints per serving and is a great snack or meal idea!

Crescent roll hot dogs are one of the easiest things ever to make.  Plus, they are ideal for making in batches ahead of time to freeze for fast snacks or meals.  They are 5 SmartPoints each, so that may be a bit high for some, but if you have a few extra points, they make a great snack that is super satisfying.

I confess I am pretty picky about the hot dogs I use.  I prefer the Hebrew National 99% Fat-Free when available.  Otherwise, I use Ball Park Turkey Dogs.  Look for fat-free options or any hot dog that is only 1 point per dog.  Also, I find that Pillsbury is the only brand of crescent rolls I can find in reduced fat.  Usually, our store brand is not reduced fat.  Walmart and Kroger stores carry the reduced fat in my region.

Ingredients:

Reduced Fat Crescent Rolls (1 tube of 8)

8 Fat-Free Turkey Hot Dogs

4 slices 2% American Cheese

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Place unrolled crescent rolls on an ungreased baking sheet.

Place ½ slice cheese and 1 hot dog onto each crescent roll.

Roll from wide end to skinny end, and place at least 2" apart to allow for expansion when cooking.

Bake on the middle rack for 12-15 minutes or until crescent roll is golden brown and fully cooked.

Typically, I have used basic mustard for dipping.  Since mustard is a free condiment on Weight Watchers, it is definitely a favorite.  If you want to spice things up a bit, just add a bit of steak seasoning to your mustard.  No additional points, and totally yummy!  No matter whether you dip them or eat them as is, these Crescent Roll Hot Dogs are a favorite easy treat that the entire family will love!

    Could you air fry these?

Absolutely! A good rule of thumb is to air fry at 25 degrees lower for 20% less time.
