Gingerbread Homemade Body Scrub

This Gingerbread Homemade Body Scrub is a great choice for fall or winter. It is the perfect time for delicious holiday scents like pumpkin, apple, and of course our favorite gingerbread! Oh, the spicy, wonderful scent of Gingerbread warms up your mood in even the chilliest of temps. Whether you love the flavor of the cookie version or not you will probably flip for the delicious scent of this Gingerbread Body Scrub.

This is a perfect way to soothe, moisturize, and soften dry skin due to colder temps and wind, a wonderful spiced aromatic experience, and has ingredients that improve your skin’s appearance long term. First it works to slough away dead skin, then the oils that are left behind absorb and heal your skin like a fancy spa treatment without the cost or the need to even leave your home!

Gingerbread Homemade Body Scrub

Ingredients:

1 cup brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup coconut oil
2 tsp. ground ginger
2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground clove
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
2 tsp. vitamin E oil

Directions:

Stir all ingredients in a large bowl until everything is well combined and evenly distributed.

Transfer to a jar with a tight fitting lid.

The vitamin E works as a natural preservative so your sugar scrub should last for at least 6-8 weeks if refrigerated between uses, if you decide to give it as a gift be sure to let them know it does have a shelf life.

To Use: Rub a generous scoop gently onto wet skin in a circular motion. Rinse away with water and pat skin dry with a towel.

Use caution- your shower floor may be slippery from the oils, rinse an extra few minutes to help melt and run coconut oil down the drain.

This gingerbread homemade body scrub is a perfect choice for gift giving. Grab some simple plastic jars, ribbon and make your own label to create a gorgeous easy gift everyone will love. Remember you are using ingredients that could potentially spoil, so make in small batches and use within 1-2 weeks if kept out in the open, or within 6-8 weeks if refrigerated between uses.

I also recommend being careful and using plastic versus glass jars for storage. A plastic jar won’t break if dropped or knocked over in the bathroom. Just to be on the safe side, make sure you use plastic. We found tons of different colors, sizes an styles at the Dollar Tree in our area. You may even find them online.

Homemade beauty products are not only a great way to save money and keep the chemicals off you but they are just all kinds of fun to make. This one is for the manly men in your life- husband, boyfriend, father, brother, grandpa- a little bit of pampering for your lumberjack type is a perfect treat. A few simple ingredients and just a few minutes make this Rosemary & Clove Beard Conditioner. Along with this free printable I created for you, this is all you need to create a unique and special gift. The combination of essential oils creates a yummy and manly scent to soften scratchy beards. It makes a great gift for Valentine’s Day, Father’s Day, or any other occasion.

ROSEMARY & CLOVE BEARD CONDITIONER

Grab this printable here, I printed mine out in 4×6 size .

Supplies Needed:

1 Tbsp. Olive Oil

1 Tbsp. Distilled Water

1 Tbsp. Witch Hazel

1 tsp. Vegetable Glycerin

3-4 drops Clove Essential Oil

7-10 drops Rosemary Essential Oil

1/8 tsp. salt

Directions:

Combine all ingredients inside a small glass bottle, I love these Amber Glass Dropper Bottles for storing small batches like this. They make it easy to use and store.

Start with a drop or two of Clove at first-it is a hot oil and has a strong scent.

Cut out the label to fit your container, affix to bottle with clear packing tape.

To use: Massage 6-8 drops into beard, can be used on skin as well.

Experiment with your own combination of essential oils to create a unique scent that works for you. I think lavender, sandalwood, cedarwood, patchouli, black pepper,or bergamot would make wonderful scents for men.

Who doesn’t love the smell of baked goods? Sugar, vanilla, cinnamon and other spices being warmed up in the oven creating an irresistible smell. They make an amazing scent for homemade body products too- Like this delicious Snickerdoodle Sugar Scrub. This scrub exfoliates gently and leaves your skin soft, moisturized, and fragrant. I like to keep a jar of this on the shelf next to the shower and use it a couple times a week for a quick spa experience. It also makes a wonderful homemade gift in a pretty jar with a simple tag attached to identify the scent. What is your favorite body product scent?

SNICKERDOODLE SUGAR SCRUB

Ingredients:

1 cup granulated sugar

1 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup almond oil

2 tsp. cinnamon

1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

vitamin E capsule

Directions:

Combine brown and white sugars, almond oil, cinnamon, and vanilla in a bowl.

Poke hole in vitamin E capsule, or you can use 2 tsp. oil if you buy it that way and add to mixture.

Stir until everything is well combined.

Transfer to a jar with an airtight lid.

Scrub is safe to be used on body, if you do not have sensitive skin you may also enjoy it as a face scrub.

Some people have a sensitivity to cinnamon and you may find your skin pink/red after use- this will fade.

This deliciously scented Whipped Gingerbread Body Butter leaves your skin not only smelling heavenly but soft and silky as well. From fall right through the end of winter Gingerbread is a terrific seasonal scent. Shea butter, almond, and coconut oils provide your skin with so many beauty benefits – soft, silky, and glowing skin. Don’t even get me started on the yummy aromatherapy benefits that the warm and spicy fragrance brings to you (and anyone around you) Place in a pretty jar, add a simple homemade tag, and you have a thoughtful handmade gift – hostess, shower, teacher, or just to treat friends and family.

WHIPPED GINGERBREAD BODY BUTTER

Supplies Needed:
1/2 Cup Shea butter

¼ Cup Coconut oil

2 Tbsp. Almond oil

2 tsp or 2 Vitamin E capsules

2 tsp. Ground Ginger

1 tsp. Ground Cinnamon

1 tsp. Vanilla Extract

Jars

Hand Mixer, Stand Mixer, Food Processor or Blender (stand mixers work best for this but not necessary)

Directions:

Combine shea butter, coconut oil, almond oil, and 1 tsp.ginger, in a microwave safe dish.
Melt in microwave in 30 second increments, stirring between each until completely liquid.
Allow mixture to cool on the counter for about 20 minutes, then place in refrigerator for 15 minutes or until it begins to set a little.

Remove and place ingredients in the bowl of a hand/stand mixer, food processor, or blender.

Add remaining ginger, vanilla extract, vitamin E, and cinnamon. Mix until fluffy and smooth- it will look like homeade whipped cream or batter.

Scoop body butter into wide mouthed jars with an airtight lid to store. Can be left at room temperature and will be a very soft mixture, for a more firm texture keep in refrigerator.

We love the idea of creating easy and natural beauty products. While there are many things to consider, these simply whipped body butters, body scrubs and more can be a fun easy treat to use. Always be careful when using oils, spices and such. While these ingredients rarely cause allergic reactions or issues, it is always best to test on a small patch of skin before applying to your body. If you choose to give this as a fun gift to your girlfriends this year for the holidays, make sure to include a simple label or note with all ingredients listed. Better to be safe than sorry when it comes to someone else’s skin!

Have you ever wanted to gift something fun but been at a loss for how to make it unique? Wine cork crafts are a favorite of mine, but this Sailboat in a Jar Bubble Bath Gift is a perfect choice for making fast and easy with our secret hidden ingredient thanks to our sponsor, Johnson’s® Baby products.

I do a lot of shopping at Walmart since it is convenient and affordable. Picking out birthday or anniversary gifts is easy when you shop there, and of course, I often find the best ideas come and are inspired by the most unlikely products. A friend of mine has a birthday coming up, and she absolutely loves visiting Lake Michigan. Her family often rents a sailboat for a day out on the lake in the summer. I knew, she also is someone who would fuss at me for spending much on a gift, so this was a great idea!

Sailboat in a jar Wine Corks Crafts Bubble Bath Gift

I started by picking up a few supplies. Most of these are available at a local craft store, but the Johnson’s® Baby Bubble Bath is an item I grab at Walmart. It’s available in the baby section, but also with other bath care products near the soaps. I tend to visit the soap section, but if you have a baby, you’ll be in the baby department.

Supplies needed:

Large jar or vase

Johnson’s® Baby Bubble Bath

Blue food coloring

Wine cork (you can buy in craft area or save and wash from your latest bottle of wine at dinner)

Serrated Knife

Toothpick

Scrap paper

Scissors

How to make your Sailboat in a Jar Wine Cork Crafts:

Begin by using the serrated knife to cut the wine cork in half, lengthwise. Cut slowly and take your time to avoid injury.

Cut out your sailboat sail from the scrap paper. A simple oval shape works perfectly.

Create the sail by poking the toothpick through the oval, and place the sail into the half of the wine cork. Your boat is now complete. If you want, you can personalize with a boat name on the sail, or even the receivers initials.

Fill your vase or jar halfway withJohnson’s® Baby Bubble Bath. Add a few drops of blue food coloring and stir gently to mix.

Place the wine cork sailboat onto the top of the bubble bath.

For gifting, add a lid and wrap with ribbon and a message on a card.

This bubble bath gift idea is a great option for a gift that anyone would love. Not only is it a cute idea to display in a bathroom on a counter or shelf, but it is totally functional! They can just remove the lid, and pour a bit of the Johnson’s® Baby Bubble Bath into their bath to create a wonderful evening bubble bath.
